Letter to Santa/Письма Санта/Litreacha chuig Santa/Lettre au Père Noël

Okay all you moms and dads, aunts and uncles and kids yourself, it is almost the season of Christmas and writing Santa letters. Today my three year old asked me to write Santa a letter with her choice of gifts she wants. So of course we spend the morning doing so and addressing our letter to Santa. Now, I use to live in Alaska and in the North Pole (an actual town) there is a place called the Santa Claus house that has reindeer and a sleigh and all the Christmas joy! On the walls are letters from all around the world from kids who have written to Santa Claus. If you send your child's letter there must be done so by December 10th, they will write you back and it will be post marked North Pole and all the Christmas fun for you little ones. So here is the address, hope you all have fun thinking of what you want Santa to bring you if your on his Nice list!

Candle holders

Okay so finally got around to the old candle holder project. Here I had two old black candle holders that I hated and decided to repurpose them. I took antique acrylic paint and painted it then took a piece of sand paper and sanded it down getting the cornors and edges good so it looks old and faded and then took pictures I liked and cut them the size of the candle spot and place it in there real snug. That was it. I hung it on my wall and I love it. Seriously took me like 20 mins in all. Heres the pics!

Sorry my pictures are not very good. I'm hopefully get a new camera for Christmas and they will look a lot better!!

Glued!

Okay so I tired super glue, hot glue gun and ribbon to.make my horn and ears stick to the head band. Did not work! So I had to use more modeling clay to wrap it around the headband. Not the best but it works and my fingers are tired of being glued together. So FINALLY! Here is a pic of the headabnd its still drying but at least its staying.

Fall

Well, I decided to decorate my mantle with fall decorations. I took twine and old wine bottles and a serving tray. Then fake flowers and weeds for my fillers and there we have it a cheap and easy way to give your sitting room a fall feel when sitting in front of the cozy fireplace. I also like pops of color so I used purple and splashes of yellow and orange as well as red, mostly fall colors but the purple and white make it more elegant.

Unicorn

Okay, so I made the horn and the ears.
Pretty easy actually. I bought Air Dry clay from Crayola and made two long horn shaped clay models and then twisted them around each other. I then added purple glitter. The clay was $3.97, & the glitter was $1.00 at Wal-mart. Then I made two ear shapes and they just air dry for 24 hours and they are hard. Next ill hot glue them to a purple head band for her to wear. The costume is coming together. Ill post pics when its all.done, and remeber this was all super cheap to make and she'll be able to play with is long after Halloween is over.

Flying Purple People Eater!

Okay so got the stuff for my daughter my little pony twilight sparkle costume. Do you know how hard it is to.find purples that MATCH! So hard! I had to search everywhere and I just couldnt do it so I matched them as well as I could. So I have finished painting the twilight sparkle design on the pants and made hoofs for her ands out of purple socks. I just cut a hole for the thumb. its starting to come together. My next goal is to.make.the unicorn horn and ears. Wish me luck.
Oh I applied glow and the dark paint to her design too so now its extra special for her when she's out trick or treating in the dark.

Craft Day

This morning was a rainy day so not much we could do outside. So we decided to make crafts. I made a sensory bottle for my 10 month old and with my three year old we made hand turkeys and popcicle stick people.

Sensory bottle.
All little babies (well at least mine) love to play with an empty plastic bottle. We took bead from an old necklace, then some old popouri red and brown pieces. Some old buttons and whatever else that makes noise. I also added red glitter. Then I filled the bottle with water (please fill all the way up) and hot glued the lid shut. The water got colored from the glitter and popouri. She loves the noise it makes when she shakes it and lives watching the pieces fall back and forth.

Turkey and stick people.
For this I just traced my daughters hand on a piece of cardboard and we hot glued feather for the hair and two pieces of necklace doe the eyes and then drew on a mouth and nose. Then she wanted them to.waet a necklace so we hot glued on a wrap around piece of the old plastic beaded necklace I cut up. There we go and she has been entertained for hours!

Potato soup!

So of course I am always wrong and apparently know nothing....my stubborn husband decided to till up my garden today...because he was being nice and helping me out....(wrong). I said wait my carrots and potatoes and winter onions are still growing. He told me no, they are done I know they are. So he started pulling up my potato plants and little potatos where falling off. I said see they are still growing, he told me they dont get as big as they would be in a store and they wont be any good anyway. So then he proceeded to try to tell me my carrots were not growing either. So I made him dig one up and sure enough, they were! So now I have decided to prove him wrong. I made potato soup with my baby potatoes and had him come try it....he loved it and then I told him where the potatoes came from.
This ladies and gentlemen just goes to show...i do know what im talking about sometimes, and your wife is always right ;)  !

Bloodly Deadly!

So I fifnshed up the mud room. I love the look. I still have the rest of the front door to stain dark brown and to create an awesome light fixture but as far as decoration and the over spray and paint yeah! Is all I have to say.
Oh so I forgot to tell you about the decor items haha. Okay so the lamp in the corner found it in a garage sell, 2 bucks, the shade also a garage sale like .50c The chair a yard sale 5 pounds. The trivets on the wall a collection of three from willow house 39.00 pounds the painting I did myself. The wine bottle carrier 1 dollar at a yard sale. The wine bottle in the weave 5 dollars at the local farm store and the candles I got in Alaska at a Walmart years ago but im sure they are cheap. The oil lamp also a willowhouse product and the key holder I found in an old farm house so free. So I just decorated my whole room for under 100 pounds and I love it!
